We want a child who is happier in school

We also want a child who has more positive relationships with key adults and peers, and who is better able to recognise and manage their own emotions.

We want to support children to be more resilient and better able to engage with their learning, and to provide clarity of a child’s strengths, as well as their current – and possibly ongoing – needs.

The Harbour Programme aims to give parents a better understanding of their child and what they need to be open to learning experiences. We also want to give school staff support, and help them feel better able to meet the needs of the child within their own school.

Finally, we want to generate a breadth of information about the child, demonstrating the development of skills and dispositions which will be suitable evidence for future referrals if required.
