Sandtray conversations are a therapeutic way of supporting children to process and share their thoughts and emotions in a safe and contained way through the use of metaphor.

Practitioners work 1:1 with children, allowing them to build their world in open, developed, or themed sandtrays to explore conscious or subconscious thoughts which might be creating barriers to emotional wellbeing.

Sandtray conversations are child led over a number of sessions to let the child explore and develop their own thoughts as the practitioner supports the child to their own realisations and solutions through listening, reflecting back feelings and gentle questioning about what is being observed in the tray.
